Seven Candidates Contest Inverness South By-election

Voting takes place between 07:00 and 22:00 at six polling stations: Balloch Village Hall, Cradlehall Primary School, Green Drive Hall, Inshes Primary School, and Strathdearn Village Hall
Voting is underway to select a new councillor for Inverness South. The previous representative, John Holden, resigned from the local authority in September following his conviction for benefit fraud. Today seven candidates are contesting the resulting by-election. The outcome is expected tomorrow lunchtime.
The candidates are:
David Bonsor, Scottish Conservative and Unionist
Donald MacLeod Boyd, Scottish Christian Party "Proclaiming Christ's Lordship"
Carolyn Caddick, Scottish Liberal Democrats
Gale Falconer, Scottish Green Party
Ken Gowans, Scottish National Party (SNP)
Katherine Mackenzie, Scottish Labour Party
David McGrath, Independent
The count will take place on Friday 4th November at Inverness Town Hall.
