Just as Tiger Woods makes his comeback to golf. Ginno ventures out for the first time
Fore!!!!!!!
When it comes to golf there’s been so many greats; Mickelson, Ballesteros, Woods, Palmer and Jack Nicklaus (who, by the way I loved in The Shining – top movie!)
Yes my friends it’s time to mark a special day in your calendar. From tomorrow, may Saturday the 6th of August be known as the start of my golfing career.
I have been contemplating this for a while and I’ve now decided to take the plunge and find a course that I can hack away at. That unfortunate course is Muir of Ord, so I hope I don’t upset the greenkeepers too much over the weekend.
I plan to head out as part of a four-ball (think that’s right) and chop…..sorry swing away. Of course I may have to bend the rules so that I don’t have to include any fresh air shots, lost balls, hitting of wildlife, taking out a club house window or having to call Gavin from Autoglass to the club car park to replace a windscreen on my score card. Otherwise, we’ll learn a number that’s even bigger than a Google!!!
But, I am an impatient man and I do wonder when the decent scores will come. When will I get my first hole in one, birdie, eagle or even albatross (which up until this point I thought was an instrumental tune by Fleetwood Mac you might recognise from an M&S campaign). Who knows, but like I always do, I’ll grab the bull by the horns.
And now to finish with “The Look”. I like to make an effort so I won’t let my fellow golfers down with my attire. I plan to wear a Red Cap, Lemon long sleeved Polo Shirt, Sky Blue Tank Top with Smoke Grey trousers and white & brown golf shoes. Aye, I’ll be like a walking rainbow! In fact, somebody asked if I was being dressed by Ian Poulter, but I don’t know who that is??????
Anyway, one of the MFR office staff kindly put together an impression of what I may look like, which is above for your pleasure.
All the best, all the time.
