Playing the Golden Age of Rock 'n' Roll
Frank kicks off Wednesday nights listening, at 7 pm with what is essentially the history of that music variously known as Rock ‘n’ Roll, Pop and just plain Rock………..or as he calls it, “ The Golden Age of Rock ‘n’ Roll “.
He’s old enough to have lived through the musical era which changed the world from the coming of Elvis, Little Richard and Chuck Berry in 1955 through the British invasion of the U.S. via the Beatles, the Stones and everything in between which went on to formulate the swinging sixties.
During the sixties, Frank worked on cruise ships which took him all over the world and he also spent a lot of time in London and the South of England where he was bitten by the radio bug - courtesy of pirate Radios Caroline and Wonderful Radio London (Big L)
He remains smitten ever since!
The show, which has been running since 1989 features many of the original U.S. versions of U.K. 50’s and 60’s hits and much of it sounds every bit as fresh today as it did on his Dansette record player, way back in the mists of time !!
