All about Krystle

Story Highlight

Who's the girl behind the headphones?

The weekend simply wouldn’t be the same without tuning into Krystle’s weekend sessions.

The party girl has always been passionate about dance music and loves presenting In:Demand Dance and her Saturday night show.

She said: “When I was growing up I used to spend hours every night teaching myself how to DJ, much to my parents disdain!  Getting the opportunity to share my music with people every weekend is an absolute joy.  I am one lucky girl”

Krystle is well acquainted with the ways of commercial radio, having started her career as an assistant at Radio Forth in Edinburgh at the tender age of 13.

But after years of answering the phone, making cups of tea and working as a personal assistant for the managing director, Krystle is certain that she’s found her true niche in radio, presenting In:Demand Dance.

And she’s not alone in her convictions - in 2008 the Sony Radio Awards panel gave Krystle the radio equivalent of an Oscar for having the ‘Best Specialist Music Programme in the UK’.

And the hipster DJ, who has been lucky enough to have Moby, Mary J Blige and Paul van Dyk on her show, even takes her love of music on holiday.

“If I was given £1,000 I would be straight on a plane to Ibiza with all my girlfriends– I’ve been 7 times and adore it there - the music, buzzing party atmosphere, and of course the sunshine, make it like paradise on earth.”

“If the budget could stretch to £50,000 I would fly Tiesto over to perform live for us – it’s something I think everyone should experience at least once!  I’ve been lucky enough to have him on my show on a number of occasions – I’m his number one fan.”

Don't miss In:Demand Dance, 7-10pm every Friday and hear her play more hit music Saturdays from 10pm
