Punk, trash, thrash, indie, pop, electro, retro, funk, techno, the rock and the roll......Sunday night's on MFR are music. You and I spend our Sunday nights from 8pm indulging each other in the awe inspiring music world. Whether it be unearthing the bands and artists we have never heard before, reminding ourselves about what music has given us by selecting only the finest alternative classics, playing the records we know all the words to and most importantly showcasing the talent we are so lucky to have right on our doorstep....there is no other way to spend Sunday evenings....

More than anything I would love you to send me through your demo's.....The Highlands, Moray and Aberdeenshire are harbouring some of Scotland's best talent and I want you to use me as a step to getting your band or yourself to the next stage so put your CD in the post, tell me a bit about who you are and what you do and the music you love and we will take it from there. We could record a session? Have a blether?

Recording sessions and interviewing bands is one of the highlights of the job I do at MFR. If a band or artist is in our area I try and hijack them and get them into the studio to record our infamous Studio A session's and interviews. In the past I have had acts from The Futureheads, Maximo Park, The Fratellis, Malcolm Middleton, We are Scientists, Pigeon Detectives, The Wombats and The Enemy to our very own home-grown talent from the Jyrojets, The Breech, Call to Mind and Shutter.

As well as our show bursting at the seams with the best music around, my competition is there to grab the best in new music to add to your record collection, "Never mind the Bolocks" I like to call it...

Our "resplendent guide to gigs" is a knockout heads up on all gig's and festivals in our area and remember that if your in a band about to play some gig's, going to a gig that you want to tell everyone about or you put on gig's then let me know and a cheeky wee free plug on the North's number 1 is yours!!

I like to take things a wee bit easy also by selecting a record that is inspiring, soothing and heart warming in a feature simply titled "and relax" and I also like to pogo like a madwoman in the studio to a full on mind-blowing trash thrash rock and roll record...this feature is one of indulgence which I like to call "the dark side of the Marion"....If there is a soothing and heart warming record or a mind-blowing trash thrash rock and roll record you ain't heard in ages or one you would love to hear on the radio, drop me an email and we shall indulge each other....
